Workshops

These workshops are about real life not just theory - with topic experts as needed.

Themes and Subjects

Politics & influencing with purpose developing the right mindset, skills, understanding and plans for achieving the influence needed to get results.

Who is in your way? How do we confront the bureaucrats in Treasuries across the nation who think they know best without actually knowing what is going on?

Knowing your community – Each community has its own rhythm and it is difficult to successfully influence something that we don’t fully comprehend (eg Treasury boffins). Understanding how a particular community functions and interacts is important. Who are the important people? Which sectors are growing or declining? What does the future hold?

Dealing with the dark side the great fear of most people - experienced and not so experienced – is dealing with dishonesty, aggression, threats and deceit from individuals in positions of influence. This workshop/session deals with that very troubling, tricky and confronting issue.

Writing Economic Development Plans - outcome focused not on the best looking fanciest report but on action. Grant writing skills can be included as needed.

Developing networks, contacts, partnerships and cooperation - sometimes this is easy to achieve but often it isn't, yet the fact is that getting access to government funds and support often means showing (and having) a united voice.

Specific issues that can be addressed include:

   Organisational Politics

   Community politics

   Federal, State and Local politics*

   Grant Writing

*We don't yet do family politics as that is way too complicated.
